Amidst the war, Ukrainian farmers in Kharkiv are cultivating top-tier vegetables. Alla and Vasiliy Shvetsov opened "Miracle," a store in Zolochiv, just 25 kilometres from the frontlines, offering organic produce grown with innovative technology.
The plants here thrive without soil. Buckets are filled with perlite sand, cultivating cucumbers and tomatoes. Through specialized tubes, water and nutrients are delivered according to a programmed regimen. There's no need for weed control, herbicides, or conventional cultivation methods. Yet, the vegetables emerge with a gorgeous appearance and an exceptional flavour, free from any harmful substances. Vasiliy's computer program precisely regulates microelements and vitamins, ensuring optimal proportions.
A notable safety measure is the requirement for hydrogen peroxide disinfection before entering both the utility rooms and the greenhouse. Additionally, unique equipment parts for the laboratory are crafted using a 3D printer.
Their greenhouse can already operate year-round. One square meter can yield up to 30 kilograms of vegetables per season, lasting three months, if there are no power outages.
This innovative cultivation process ensures high-quality produce.
