US (OR): Blueberry harvest may be states largest in history

Oregon's blueberry harvest may set a record amidst promising demand this season, Oregon Blueberry Commission members said Oct. 6. During its regular meeting, the commission welcomed new leadership and received an update about a potential assessment increase.

Derek Eisele, vice chairman, said Oregon's blueberry crop for 2025 is estimated at 165 million pounds, up from 153 million pounds the previous year.

If the forecast holds true, the harvest would surpass the state's record of 157 million pounds from 2022. Michelle Palacios, the commission's new administrator, said the 2026 crop is expected to dip back to 155 million pounds as new bushes are being established.

Eisele said the industry did more processed volume in the past, the market is strong, and quality and size for berries was great. There's also less fruit in cold storage than at this point in 2024.
