A shared customer was the starting point for the collaboration between Boix and Taks Handling Systems. Since then, Taks has become one of Boix's trusted partners. "At Boix, we believe in building long-term partnerships that add real value to our customers' production lines," says Job Schmidt on behalf of Boix. "With a shared focus on efficiency, reliability, and innovation, our collaboration with Taks Handling Systems enables both companies to deliver fully integrated packaging solutions worldwide for the horticultural, packaging, food, and non-food industries."
Bert-Jan Nolden from Taks Handling Systems explains where their expertise lies. "Our strength is combining mechanical engineering with smart control systems to create one seamless handling solution. We specialize in automating the internal product flow, including transport, buffering, packing, and palletizing. Our 'blueprint-for-efficiency' approach is a perfect match for Boix's high-quality tray forming and case sealing machines. With projects across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Oceania, we bring both reach and expertise to every installation."

Complementing each other's strengths
The partnership between the two companies started at a joint customer and quickly showed how well they fit together. "For Taks Handling Systems, Boix machines like the Q-1530 and the FP-4/2M are reliable and easy to integrate," says Bert-Jan. "Their mechanical strength and format flexibility make them ideal for high-volume systems. The FP-4/2M, in particular, can produce nearly all of the models demanded in the market, with the 'open and closed column' design especially popular among our customers."
For Boix, working with a turnkey partner like Taks Handling Systems means that their machines become part of larger, carefully engineered systems where performance and service take center stage. According to Denis from Boix, "We offer flexibility in tray and case sizes, fast changeovers to minimize downtime, constant output to support overall line efficiency, and compact integration into both new and existing layouts. On top of that, our customers get access to local service and support."
Both companies share the same priorities: quick changeovers, stable output, and easy maintenance. Denis adds, "That combination helps our customers reduce labor costs, increase uptime, and remain flexible in responding to market demand."

Customization through strong collaboration
Time and again, joint projects have proven the strength of the collaboration. Bert-Jan explains, "Sometimes Boix machines are already installed at the customer and need to be integrated into a new packaging line. In other cases, a Boix machine is part of a complete turnkey proposal from Taks Handling Systems. In both situations, the integration runs smoothly and effectively, resulting in streamlined systems that perfectly fit the customer's operations. Thanks to the flexibility of Boix machines—whether in layout, box models, or controls—they are a great fit for a wide range of configurations."
Looking ahead, both companies see great potential in further integration, such as predictive maintenance and more advanced control connections between Boix machines and Taks lines. "Regular knowledge exchange between our technical teams ensures we keep improving our joint solutions," says Denis. "Together, Boix and Taks Handling Systems provide customers with a total solution that is greater than the sum of its parts."
Bert-Jan agrees: "By combining Boix's proven forming technology with the turnkey handling expertise of Taks Handling Systems, we are building packaging systems that are not only reliable and robust, but also designed for long-term performance."
