The Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative launched a new program called Fatherhood Greenhouse., which allows children and their fathers to adopt garden beds and harvest vegetables, flowers, spices and more.
Perez Bryant and his daughter Paizley are a part of the program. "We're watching on them, caring on them, watching them grow," Bryant said.
Al Grimes, the director of the Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative, explained that they started this program as a way for kids to connect with their dads. "Fathers can come on a regular basis, plant food with their children, bond with their children and be engaged in a constructive activity," Grimes said.
Victoria Trotter, the executive director of Green Movement Glenville, which is a partner on the program, said she can see first-hand the impact that the greenhouse has on father's relationships with their kids.
