OptiCrop lands first greenhouse project for root-zone cooling tech

OptiCrop Ltd (a new ag-tech venture under ClearVue Technologies) has just kicked off its first commercial greenhouse project. The project will deploy OptiCrop's ground-source heat exchange technology to manage root-zone temperatures across a 1-acre greenhouse in southern Israel, valued at approximately $80,000.

This marks the first major step for OptiCrop since it was launched to take forward the technologies developed by ROOTS Sustainable Agricultural Technologies, whose IP and core assets were acquired by ClearVue in late 2024.

The project
The system will be installed in a new greenhouse in a region known for extreme temperatures. A global leader in precision irrigation is delivering this project, the company operates in 110 countries and serves over 2 million farmers globally. Their team is managing the greenhouse build and integrating OptiCrop's cooling solution into the growing system.

The core technologies first developed by ROOTS — including root-zone heating/cooling and Irrigation by Condensation — now live on under OptiCrop banner. The team has improved integration, refined the system for better efficiency, and is targeting broader commercial deployment in high-value crops, hydroponics, and extreme-climate regions.

""This first sale for OptiCrop is a significant milestone for our ag-tech division and demonstrates early commercial traction in the protected cropping space. It validates our strategic direction following the acquisition of ROOTS IP and underlines the strong market potential for integrated solar greenhouses and sustainable climate-control solutions.

"We are excited to see the OptiCrop team hit the ground running and deliver early revenue. The OptiCrop team secured this project being delivered for OptiCrop's client by a global leader in precision irrigation solutions – an agrotechnology company working in over 110 countries, who have irrigated over 10 million hectares of land serving over two million farmers.

This order demonstrates the demand for our technologies in the market", – said Martin Deil, Global CEO of ClearVue.
