WDG Farm begins construction of largest smart farm complex in South Korea

WDG Farm announced that it has secured land for the largest smart farm complex in the country, the 'Chungnam Global Horticultural Complex (Chungnam Seosan Agricultural Bio Complex)'.

WDG Farm signed a sales contract on the 30th of last month to acquire 15,210,352 square meters (approximately 46,000 pyeong) of land from Hyundai E&C for 15.153 billion won through its subsidiary, Nine Farm.

The Chungnam Seosan Agricultural Bio Complex project focuses on building the largest smart farm in the country, covering an area of 150,000 pyeong. A total project cost of over 330 billion won will be invested, sourced from Chungnam Province and Seosan City's own investments, local revitalization investment funds, and private investments.

WDG Farm participated as a major shareholder in a special purpose corporation (SPC) established in December of last year and will play a substantive overall project management role. It plans to build state-of-the-art semi-enclosed glass greenhouse facilities for the smart farm, which is a core facility of the agricultural bio complex, with about 90 billion won allocated from the total project cost.
