Georgian grower to build new greenhouse

Georgian herb and vegetable producer company Herbia is expanding its business. The company plans to invest 2.5 million GEL in constructing a new greenhouse. As the company's founder Zurab Janelidze told BMG TV, the project is being implemented within the framework of the state's greenhouse support program, and after the construction of the new greenhouse, production will increase by 20%.

"Within the framework of this program [to support greenhouses], we have started constructing a greenhouse on 1.5 hectares. We want to increase our production by another 20% this year," noted Zurab Janelidze.

The founder of the farm notes that with the current productivity, they cannot meet consumer demand, so stable development is important for "Herbia".

"With this project, the existing farm will develop. Today, we cannot fully meet demand, because consumers demand new products and there is a great demand for existing ones. Therefore, we will try to develop in both directions. For example, hotel chains ask us to constantly supply our products, but we are not ready for this yet. We are only suppliers of chain markets. As a result of the increase in production, we will move directly into this segment, and this will be interesting for our consumers," noted Zurab Janelidze.
