J. Huete Greenhouses is participating in a new trade mission to Saudi Arabia with its regional agent, Vicente R. Basabe, to explore opportunities and bring its protected cultivation solutions closer to the local market.
During his stay, Basabe met with farmers and technical managers to learn firsthand about the challenges of an environment characterized by extreme temperatures and water scarcity. The company presented its range of greenhouses designed for arid climates, which incorporate top and side ventilation, plastic covers with UV protection, and advanced automation to optimize the interior microclimate.

Among the most notable innovations are other types of structures that are more agile to design and build, such as the Berryfesta reinforced macrotunnel, and hydroponic systems designed for growing berries and saving water and fertilizers, improving work ergonomics, and reducing heat stress on plants.
Additionally, J. Huete Greenhouses offers passive cooling technologies—such as high-durability shade nets or double-layered inflated plastic systems—and drainage water reclamation solutions, all aimed at minimizing operating costs and the water footprint.
"Saudi Arabia represents an exciting challenge because of its commitment to diversifying agriculture in extreme conditions," explains Basabe.
