HB RTS, a provider of reusable transportation items, has refinanced its existing debt facilities with a new financing package totaling EUR 145 million. The refinancing was arranged through a partnership with AustralianSuper and Rabobank, following a market process that secured competitive terms. The package includes a term loan, a capital expenditure (capex) facility, and a revolving credit facility, with a bullet maturity of five years. An additional EUR 50 million uncommitted accordion facility has also been established to support the company's growth ambitions.

The refinancing follows HB RTS's acquisition of TPS Rental Systems in December 2024 and is intended to strengthen the company's position in the reusable load carrier solutions sector across Europe. The new funding will be directed towards expanding HB RTS's offerings, particularly in the food supply chain and other core sectors, aligning with industry efforts to transition away from single-use packaging towards more sustainable practices.
HB RTS was advised by Rothschild & Co and Allen & Overy Shearman on the transaction, while Freshfields acted as legal counsel for the lenders. Bas Thuijs, CFO of HB RTS, described the refinancing as providing a solid financial foundation for the company's next phase of growth. He emphasized that the agreement reflects confidence in the company's strategy and its commitment to sustainable solutions for European customers.

Nick Ward, Head of Private Credit at AustralianSuper, stated that the transaction aligns with the fund's capacity to offer customized financing solutions for businesses with strong infrastructure characteristics. Ruud Stegeman, Executive Director of Wholesale Client Coverage at Rabobank, noted that the refinancing aligns with Rabobank's focus on supporting sustainable, innovative solutions in the reusable packaging supply chain.
The refinancing is expected to support HB RTS's continued expansion in the European market, with a focus on providing sustainable and reusable packaging solutions to various industries.
