A new cross-border trade model between China and Kazakhstan has been officially launched, aimed at boosting the efficiency of fruit and vegetable exports. The first convoy of refrigerated trucks recently departed from Urumqi, Xinjiang, heading to Almaty, Kazakhstan, under a centralized procurement and direct transport system.
This new approach enables shipments from the Jiuding Trade and Logistics Corporation's wholesale market in Urumqi to reach the Altyn Orda market in Almaty within 24 hours, at least 12 hours faster than traditional methods. The transport operates under the TIR (International Road Transport) system, which significantly reduces customs inspection time by 60%, thanks to sealed cargo being checked only at the final destination.
Customs and quarantine procedures are now handled directly at the market site, streamlining the process further. Jiuding Corporation, a key agricultural hub in Xinjiang, views this as a breakthrough in China-Kazakhstan produce trade and plans to expand cooperation by simplifying customs procedures and enhancing fruit and vegetable exports in the region.
