New LED Lights aim to make growing easier

"We designed and optimized the Libra H2 LED Platform from the ground-up to create a premium horticulture lighting solution without the premium price tag," said Travis Williams, Co-Founder and CEO at Libra Design. "At a time when unproven lighting technologies and unnecessary features are being marketed to growers at exorbitant prices, we are taking a different approach by focusing on the fundamental needs of greenhouse and indoor farming with optimal performance and high quality at an industry-leading price."

Libra Design has announced the High-Flux 2.0 (H2) LED luminaire, designed to offer the combination of performance and quality for commercial greenhouse and indoor farms. "With high-performance solutions, the Libra H2 LED luminaire sets the standard for those that value crop yield and quality along with short- and long-term cash flow implications."

The Libra H2 LED luminaire addresses the pragmatic needs of controlled environment agriculture (CEA) with a focus on helping farmers achieve maximum profitability through lower capital and operating costs, improved crop production, and years of maintenance-free reliability. Featuring a patent-pending aluminum housing capable of dissipating more than 800 watts, and a customizable light engine that emits tailored spectra at more than 2,400 micromoles, the Libra H2 LED luminaire delivers leadership performance and energy efficiency that enables increased crop yields with greater efficiency and quality.

The next-generation of LED Lighting
The Libra H2 LED luminaire is ideal for all varieties of crops, including vine, leafy greens, herbs, cannabis, and ornamentals. Weighing less than 10 lb (4.4 kg), the Libra H2 LED system delivers 2-7 times more photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) per pound of lighting equipment than leading lighting systems, resulting in reduced infrastructure load and cost, as well as ease of installation.

The new form factor is designed to passively shed heat, water, and debris associated with harsh growing environments, ensuring years of maintenance-free operation in temperatures up to 40°C (104°F). Libra works closely with every client to tailor the power system and light engine for optimal light spectra, intensity, and uniformity, along with power and energy efficiency, based on their crop genetics, growing strategy, energy cost, and overall growing and operational needs.

CEA tested
Made with an aluminum housing and stainless-steel accessories, the Libra H2 platform is built to withstand the harsh environments of greenhouse and indoor farming, and is safety-tested and certified for wet locations with an IP66 rating to the latest UL8800 standard. All LED systems from Libra are third-party tested for safety and performance, and each order is tested to ensure conformity within a 5% tolerance to spec.

"Pragmatic engineering and a commonsense approach to the needs of CEA is the backbone of the Libra H2 LED luminaire," said Dung Duong, Libra Co-Founder & CTO. "While our primary focus is delivering the best price-performance, the Libra H2 luminaire is equally capable to meet the needs of growers who may require dynamic dimming, spectra tuning, and/or power management functionality."

Price and availability
The Libra H2 LED luminaire is available direct from Libra Design and participating distributors/resellers starting at $350 (USD).
