UK retailers slash vegetable prices ahead of Easter

Ahead of the Bank holiday weekend, major UK supermarkets are tempting customers with dramatic price reductions on Easter Sunday staples, some dropping prices to a mere 15p.

Traditionally, UK households enjoy a Sunday Roast during Easter, similar to Christmas festivities, prompting supermarkets annually to slash prices on essential vegetables. Lidl leads this year's discount charge, announcing their vegetable price cuts beginning from April 15 as a part of the "Pick of the Week" promotions.

The deal encompasses carrots, white potatoes, green beans, swede, parsnips, and spring onions. Following suit, Aldi declared its intention to join the fray, offering its "Super Six" veggies at discounts ranging from 34% to 89%.

Starting April 15, Aldi shoppers can grab bargains on white potatoes, carrots, broccoli, spring onions, and loose garlic, but cucumbers are set apart with an 89p price tag, not joining the 15p club.
