Cambodia: Two SR modern farming communities to jointly produce safe vegetables

SOSEI Modern Agricultural Cooperative and the Neang Om Rice Modern Agricultural Cooperative in Siem Reap province plan to jointly produce safe vegetables through the investment of 100 net houses, which may be supported as a counterpart fund by the Cambodia Agricultural Sector Diversification Project (CASDP).

Khim Finan, the Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, said today, the collaboration between the two modern communities will allow them to be able to supply safe vegetables to Siem Reap city at a highly competitive price and in stable quantities.

According to the plan, the Neang Om Rice Modern Agricultural Cooperative will focus only on vegetable production at a rate of 50%, while the SOSEI Modern Agricultural Cooperative will complement the vegetable production and undertake the marketing and distribution, as they are closer to the markets than their counterpart.
