Hydroponic blueberry production featured in educational children's book

Another childrens book about hydroponic growing! Feeding Minds Press has released a new educational title focused on controlled environment agriculture. I LOVE Blueberries, authored by Shannon Anderson and illustrated by Jaclyn Sinquett, introduces young readers to the concept of hydroponically grown blueberries through a classroom-based growing system.

The book is the sequel to I LOVE Strawberries, which received multiple awards following its release. In this latest installment, students set up a hydroponic growing station as part of a classroom activity, working in collaboration with their peers and community. Through illustrated journal-style entries, the story follows two students—Jolie and Margot—who document the setup and maintenance of the system, challenges in crop development, and the characteristics of blueberry cultivation.

According to the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, the book is intended as an educational tool to introduce foundational concepts in horticulture and agri-food systems to early learners. It presents basic components of hydroponic growing systems, crop cycle management, and nutritional information relevant to small fruit production.

"I LOVE Blueberries" is the 11th title from Feeding Minds Press, which is a publishing initiative of the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture. Other recent publications include titles that focus on soil biology and potato production. Feeding Minds Press states its mission is to increase agricultural literacy by publishing books that connect readers with primary production and supply chains. The content is designed for integration into early education curricula and farm-based learning environments.
