GreenTech Americas has completed its fifth edition. Visitor numbers soared, with a total of 6,745 professionals, including exhibitors, marking a 22% increase compared to the previous edition.
Additionally, this year's conference saw a significant increase in attendance, with nearly all participants engaging in knowledge sessions for not just one, but two days. Held at the Querétaro Congress Center from March 25th to 27th, the event showcased 230 exhibiting companies from 22 countries.
Visitor remarks
Ronen Redel (Azrom): "So mainly, I wanted to see what are the new technologies, and innovation in our sector, to learn more about the local market here in Mexico and in Latin America. And I think I got quite a good idea of what's going on. In creative areas, it's been a positive experience. I've attended many of the lectures and the panels during the three days. Found some very interesting topics, and I'm taking some insights back with me."

Emiliano Dupeyron (Viveros Anaya): "GreenTech Americas is important for my business because it helps us understand what's happening in other regions and countries, what the trends are, and what's coming in the industry so we can keep improving. The reason we attend GreenTech Americas is to explore other markets, analyze the competition, see what's ahead, and figure out how we can continue moving forward. It's a must-attend event because it gives you a clear view of the current market, the challenges others are facing, how they are responding, and that really helps you decide which direction to take and how to keep progressing."
Alberto Ramírez (Hortaliza Cerrito de Guadalupe): "I see this expo as a great opportunity to connect with suppliers and service providers focused on the greenhouse sector, which is exactly what we're looking for. GreenTech Americas is very important because it specializes in the greenhouse industry. Here, you can make direct connections with suppliers and distributors. It's a must-attend event, as you can find the right people in a very targeted way, and the connections you make are extremely valuable. You meet a lot of people from the industry."
Exhibitors
The exhibition floor showcased 230 companies, spread over 2 floors, from diverse corners of the globe such as Canada, the United States, Chile, Colombia, China, Spain, France, India, Turkey, Germany, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands and Mexico.
Exhibitor remarks
Ben Sosef (Royal Brinkman Mexico): "We really like participating in GreenTech Americas, since it's a great opportunity to see all our clients and other stakeholders in only a couple of days' time. Even clients from thousands of kilometers away take the chance to visit us at this exhibition. Also due to the great organization and location, we consider this exhibition as one of the most professional in Mexico."
Rodrigo Flores (Desarrollos Biostratos): "GreenTech Americas is an event that brings together both suppliers and end customers. This direct interaction allows us to share what we are doing and create synergies by offering solutions and tools for potential problems customers may face. The event is connecting us with accounts and clients we hadn't had the chance to engage with before. What we particularly like about this event is that it attracts decision-makers, which allows us to schedule meetings or discuss specific developments. Another advantage is that it attracts people not only from Mexico but from other countries as well."
Juan Labastida (Enza Zaden Mexico): "We have participated in GreenTech Americas for the past five years. Each year is a great opportunity for us, as it gives us visibility among the producers we work with. We believe that knowledge transfer is fundamental to what we do. We not only represent our company at this event, but we also bring innovation to the market. We are very happy to be at GreenTech Americas, not only because of the number of attendees but also because we believe this is the right audience. Those who attend this event know exactly what they are looking for, and they find it at the show."
Conference
Notably, almost all conference attendees participated in knowledge sessions for not just one, but two days. This shows that there is a significant demand for gaining new insights and knowledge. Topics like energy efficiency, optimizing supply chains, impact of climate change, labor retaining strategies and Mexico's ornamental potential very discussed.
Attendee Gabriela Angeles (Iana Nature) remarks: "The sessions have been very constructive and interesting, and the technologies they have shown have made me realize that it's time to acquire new technology and apply it to my company. They've also made me think it's time to give my company a new direction. I believe it's time to stop romanticizing agriculture and give it the importance it deserves as a primary activity for society. The speakers have provided us with many tips to boost businesses, and since my company is in an expansion stage, the information they've shared will help us establish a process and order to follow."
Power day
For the second time the Power Day was organized with this year's theme "Passion for people or just profit?" hosted by Oscar Woltman (Phoenix Consultoría) and speakers Birgit de Vos (Wageningen University & Research) and Karin van der Eijk (VDE Plant). Van der Eijk says: "At the Power Day we exchanged ideas about the interpretation of labor respect and ethics, and what you can do as a company to embrace the differences. For me it was also interesting to talk to growers from Mexico and the United States and learn more about the differences in these countries."
