Nepal: New vegetable learning center established in Bhojpur

A vegetable learning center has been established in Manebhanyang of Ramprasadrai Rural Municipality-5, Bhojpur. The learning center has been established to provide farmers with practical knowledge about modern farming systems for various agricultural products including green vegetables, said Ward Chairman Jagat Chauhan.

The learning center is providing farmers with practical skills about commercial and modern farming systems for cash crops including cauliflower, akbare chilly, cabbage, coriander, fenugreek, brinjal among others.

Farmers interested in vegetable farming have been coming here to gain knowledge and skills. Local farmer Dal Bahadur Khatri said that the establishment of the learning center has provided an opportunity to gain a lot of knowledge for professional and modern farming. Knowledge about diseases and pests in vegetable crops as well as modern farming systems has been very helpful.

Dheeraj Thakur, head of the rural municipality's agriculture branch, said that the center has been established at a cost of Rs. 200,000 to provide practical knowledge about modern farming systems to farmers, including on the use of organic fertilizers and pesticides.
