He planted his first plants when he was just 7 years old, learning from his father and grandfather. "We have 80 acres of greenhouses. 17 hectares of cabbage, 3 hectares of somborka, 6 hectares of potatoes, leeks, about 3 hectares of wheat, etc. We plant leeks during December. During April we start selling leeks as a local product. This requires care, just like other plants. We often run into trouble, because the winter season is more difficult," emphasizes Vokrri.
"At the end of February and the beginning of March, I plant cabbage seedlings, which, due to the time, takes the plant about a month to emerge. Here we have seedlings for approximately 2 and a half hectares. Each seedling of the plant requires care like a baby when it is born in the first days. Watering, feeding, spraying from various diseases, etc. We have managed to make automatic irrigation when the plant needs water. We also have an agronomist who takes care of our crops. One hectare has up to 36 thousand cabbages, but we always go for more because some of them are damaged," adds Vokrri.
Vokrri's market is mainly in Kosovo, but also abroad.
"With summer cabbage we get about 90 tons of product. With winter cabbage over 100 tons. I have a market in Kosovo and abroad for every agricultural crop. This year we have been satisfied with the price of cabbage and other products. Every farmer who works will be satisfied with the income that comes from this work. It is not an easy job, because you have to wake up early in the morning and we depend on nature. Each job has its own problems, but the end is satisfying," he says.
