The Slovak cucumber grower Imre Asztalos has started using USAF™ transmitters at his company Zelstar s.r.o. Zemne. The company also propagates cucumber plants itself. With the technology supplied by Ultramins, the company kills harmful microorganisms in the irrigation water, prevents algae growth, and prevents the formation of biofilm in pipes. Ultramins has grown significantly in recent years, now with customers in more than fifty different countries.

The cucumber grower grows cucumbers on 4 hectares in plastic greenhouses. He has been using the USAF transmitters for 2 years. "Since we started using the USAF™ transmitters, the pathogen level, measured by Hygene, has dropped to zero! The pipes are very clean, cleaner than when we only used hydrogen peroxide. The combination simply delivers better results in the pipes."
The young plants grow very evenly, the grower notes. "Something I have never experienced before. Moreover, I have not lost a single one of the 60,000 self-grown young plants! All our plants also withstood the heatwaves in the summer better."
The roots are whiter and denser, noticeable at a glance in the substrate mats. "At the end of cultivation, it takes more effort to remove the growing blocks, due to the stronger root system."
Thanks to the improved root system, the plants can absorb nutrients better, so growers need to set the optimal levels. "These units also help us reduce fertilizer costs. The roots stay better in the mats, there are no clogged drippers and blocked drainage holes."
All in all, the plants have been healthier since the Slovak growers started using Ultramins' USAF™ transmitters, concludes Imre. "Even the taste of the cucumbers has noticeably improved!"
