On April 2, 2025, the acquisition of Westland Seeds was completed, with full ownership now in the hands of the current management. This transition marks an important moment in the history of the company, which was founded in 2008 by Wim Grootscholten.

As a result of the acquisition, Iwan van Vliet and Ferry Strik, who joined the management as co-shareholders on January 1, 2019, are now full owners of Westland Seeds.
The completion of the acquisition also means that Wim Grootscholten, after years of involvement in the pepper breeding world, is bidding farewell to the company. His vision and dedication have shaped the company since its inception, and continue to form an important foundation for future developments.
