Greenhouse farming to be developed with grants in Western Kazakhstan

In the West Kazakhstan region, 10 residents of the Burlynsky district have received grants to develop greenhouse farming. Before receiving the grants, they participated in training through the Batys AgroHub program.

According to the organizers, Batys AgroHub brings together both novice and experienced vegetable growers.

The project was initiated by the shareholders of the consortium KPO B.V., the companies "Shell Kazakhstan" and "Eni", and is being implemented by the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) in collaboration with the "Enbekshi Kazakhstani District Local Communities Fund."

Launched in November 2024, the project is planned to last for three years. Participants of Batys AgroHub are trained in marketing, business planning, and are supported in establishing the sales of their products. It is expected that the project will promote the development of farmer partnerships and agribusiness in the region.

"I have been engaged in vegetable farming since my youth, and now, in retirement, I will finally be able to realize my dream — to build a greenhouse. Thanks to the project, I will not only continue doing what I love, but also share my experience with young vegetable growers. The land has always nourished us, and now our residents will have even more opportunities!" said Vitaly Yun, a participant from the village of Pugachevo.
