NL: New research center has solar panels in the corridor

The construction of Axia's new research center in Naaldwijk is progressing according to plan. The greenhouse roof has now been fully fitted with glass and sandwich panels. A notable feature is the integration of solar panels into the corridor's roof.

"The installation of the screening systems and the water technology room is in full swing," says Jeffrey van der Sande. "The heat storage tank is now also becoming visible outside—an essential step in the greenhouse's climate system."

This week, drilling was completed, thermally linking the new facility to an existing location. With this heat connection and the heat storage tank, the greenhouse can utilize existing energy sources, eliminating the need for an additional boiler.

The next phase will focus on finishing the façades and installing the technical systems. Everything remains on schedule, and the plan to start production in the fall is still within reach.
