LGV Sonnengemüse announces a satisfactory year 2024 in terms of sales

Thanks to its 133 member companies from Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland and Styria, the LGV Sonnengemüse cooperative can offer over 60 varieties of fresh vegetables and garden herbs. Although a total of 60 varieties of fresh vegetables and garden herbs are offered, in 2024, around three quarters of the 97 million euros in total sales were accounted for by the three vegetable varieties: tomatoes (25 percent), cucumbers (25 percent) and peppers (2023).

These three varieties also led in terms of volume (cucumbers: 15,900 metric tons, tomatoes: 8,200 metric tons, peppers: 4,800 metric tons), with a total production volume of 37,000 metric tons in 2024. Thus, LGV Sonnengemüse was not quite able to match the strongest years, when sales exceeded 100 million euros and production volumes exceeded 40,000 metric tons. In 2024, a full 98 percent of sales came from domestic retail partners and the wholesale market, with only two percent coming from exports.
