ommercial growers in British Columbia are invited to attend the BC Grower Summit on April 24, 2025, in Surrey, BC, hosted by the ACT Group, a collaboration of four leading horticulture providers. ACT group members Grodan, Philips Horticulture LED Solutions, Priva, and Svensson are inviting commercial growers to the British Columbia summit to hear from local growers that have using new technology to help enhance their greenhouse operations and drive cost-effectiveness.
This year's program kicks off with a State of the Industry keynote address. The keynote will be followed by a series of cultivation conversations featuring experienced BC growers including Ruben Houweling, Houweling's; Terry Pastorek, Hollandia Greenhouses; and David Ryall, Star Produce; sitting with ACT company representatives for engaging one-on-one conversations. The conversations will give attendees an opportunity to hear each grower's unique story, learn growing techniques, and gain valuable insights. The educational program will wrap up with two specialized forums – one focused on autonomous growing and a second forum focused on optimizing vine crop production. Gary Jones, educator, horticulturist, and greenhouse enthusiast, will serve as BC summit moderator.
This year's summit is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the Northview Golf Club in Surrey. The event will begin with a complimentary lunch buffet at 12:00 PM. At 5:00 PM, at conclusion of the program, attendees are invited to stay for a networking happy hour and enjoy complimentary appetizers, beverages, and cocktails.
