"Between February and March 2025, the strawberry season in Basilicata recorded lower production volumes than both market demand and the same period last year. Unstable weather conditions continue to cause problems, however, a recovery is expected by May, which should bring production levels back in line with those of last season. In view of a gradual and better positioning of the strawberries grown in our region, Tenute Zuccarella has already planned an expansion of the crops with a focus on above-ground cultivation in 2026," explains Rocco Zuccarella, President of the PO.

In addition to production, it becomes essential to convey the value of the product through clear and effective communication, which also takes the form of packaging and labels. "Our labels for Candonga Fragola Top Quality and Inspire are designed to convey the unique characteristics of each variety. In addition to such information, both also include the Glycemic Index (GI) and Glycemic Load (CG), values relevant for the prevention and management of obesity and diabetes. This element aroused great interest among our buyers and customers," stresses Giuseppe Tagarelli, project manager of Tenute Zuccarella.

Furthermore, in order to support retailers and strengthen the brand's presence in the shops, Tenute Zuccarella has launched a campaign to distribute promotional materials dedicated to Candonga Fragola Top Quality.
