CAN: Haven Greens celebrates its first lettuce harvest

Haven Greens celebrated the first lettuce harvest at its fully automated greenhouse facility located in King City, Ont. on March 21. This harvest is a milestone marking the beginning of daily harvesting and year-round availability in Canada.

This first production phase focuses on three lettuce blends: Baby green leaf, baby red, and green leaf mix. These initial batches will be available at select local grocers and farmers markets in Ontario.

The facility is set to produce approximately 10,000 pounds of lettuce daily, totaling 3.6 million pounds annually.

"As we introduce Canada's first fully automated, climate-controlled greenhouse, we're not just elevating the quality of produce but also ensuring a steady, sustainable food supply for our communities," said Jay Willmot, CEO and founder of Haven Greens.
