ErfGoed and Division Q / Koppert Cress look back on the open day at the 'Broeikas' in Monster on Wednesday, March 19. During the event, growers, advisors, and suppliers were given an exclusive look at the practical trial of ErfGoed's AirFlow system.

Cock van Bommel, Business Development Manager at ErfGoed, opened the event and welcomed the visitors. Together with Bart van Meurs, Director at Division Q, he provided an in-depth explanation of the AirFlow system and the ongoing practical trial. Using a smoke machine, they demonstrated how the system works, showing how air is evenly distributed through the floor and rises uniformly through the ground cover. This allows the air to reach the plants from below. The entire greenhouse section was supplied with air, with approximately 5 m3 per m2 per hour being delivered.
The AirFlow system combines the proven functionality of ErfGoed's well-known ebb-and-flow floor with integrated floor heating and cooling, as well as an advanced air treatment system.
Van Bommel highlighted that the AirFlow system is particularly suitable for working with low-grade heat. The practical trial has shown that the air movement from the floor encourages more active plant growth. Additionally, the aeration helps create a climate that significantly reduces the development of fungal diseases.

"Dehumidifying, humidifying, heating, cooling, and delivering CO2 – exactly where the plant needs it and without any obstructions in the greenhouse. This makes us happy!" Van Meurs stated enthusiastically. "During the trial, we discovered that we can adjust many parameters. At Koppert Cress, we are now convinced of the added value this system provides. In our new greenhouse, we will install over 11,000 m2 of the AirFlow system in collaboration with ErfGoed. Meanwhile, we will continue the practical trial to fine-tune the system for optimal performance in our new facility."
