Carara is among the largest cherry pepper producers in Africa, employing 13,000 people and exporting 500 million cherry peppers annually. The peppers are cultivated across Southern Africa and processed at one of the company's two facilities, where they are canned or pouched before being shipped, primarily to Europe.
"We operate farms in Zambia, Zimbabwe, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Eastern Cape, covering a diverse range of regions to mitigate weather-related risks and ensure a consistent supply," said Ashleigh Einhorn at Carara Agro Processing. "As a family-owned company, partly owned by farmers, we oversee the entire process—from seed selection to the moment our products leave the packing facilities."
As market uncertainties challenge producers and suppliers worldwide, Carara Agro Processing remains steadfast in its mission to deliver premium products without compromise. "By integrating rigorous quality control measures, innovative processing techniques, and sustainable agricultural practices, we not only meet but exceed industry expectations."
"Our responsibility to our stakeholders is at the core of everything we do. While market fluctuations can create instability, we remain committed to producing top-tier products with the same consistency and reliability that our customers have come to trust. Our focus on quality is evident in its meticulous farmer relationships, state-of-the-art processing facilities, and stringent compliance with international food safety regulations. The company's adherence to these standards ensures that every product delivers exceptional taste, texture, and safety to consumers worldwide."
