Each year The British Tomato Growers' Association (BTGA) runs the British Tomato Fortnight (BTF) campaign, which aligns with the peak of the British Tomato Season and highlights the quality and taste of British tomatoes, their versatility in many dishes, and supports British growers.
Campaign partners
The BTGA is working closely with campaign partners again in 2025 to build on the success of last year's activities. With extensive experience promoting fruits and vegetables, campaign partners will provide invaluable support through wide consumer and influencer networks of foodies, lifestyle gurus, chefs, and nutritionists.
Jack and Grace Communications - The lead for the British Tomato Fortnight campaign, they have supported the campaign for several years, building momentum on the yearly campaign and giving a presence on social media and beyond.
Veg Power campaign - The Veg Power campaign focuses on encouraging kids to eat more veg and helping families improve their healthy eating habits. They will be supporting the BTF campaign by working with Jack & Grace to amplify the campaign's reach even further through their established media networks and chef/nutritionist influencers.
Messages and objectives
The main messaging remains focused on the taste of British tomatoes; their versatility and the fantastic range of recipes tomatoes can star in; the benefits of eating British tomatoes for health; and supporting the UK industry. The bulk of activity will run from April, building up to the fortnight and rounding off in July, but British tomatoes will be highlighted and promoted throughout the season.
The objectives of the campaign include promoting the benefits of eating British tomatoes such as health, supporting the local economy and sustainability, highlighting the talents of British growers, aiding in creativity by sharing interesting and exciting recipes, and sparking conversations about flavor.
Everyone is invited to attend, from families to professional growers to retailers. Attendees are encouraged to post about their experiences with the British Tomato Fortnight on social media through photos and videos and tagging @britishtomatoes on LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok.
