Wouter De Bruycker has recently returned from Houston, where he spent time at Dynamax's main office to familiarize himself with his new role as the Global Sales & Innovation Manager. Throughout different roles in his career, he has always been drawn to horticulture. "I have known the CEO of Dynamax for many years. When I stepped away from my previous employer, I was asked to join Dynamax to help bring their sensors into the hands of European greenhouse growers."

Market expansion
In his new role, Wouter is focused on strengthening sales operations and expanding Dynamax's presence in Europe. "Dynamax operates beyond greenhouses, including sensors for helicopter platforms and hospital applications. The goal is to map out these activities while introducing Dynamax to the European greenhouse market."
While the company has a horticultural customer base in Europe, they primarily serve universities rather than end users. "The Dynamax sensors are used by many universities and research institutions worldwide for horticultural research. The aim is to extend this directly to the end users: greenhouse growers."

Plant-based measurements
Wouter sees an increasing demand for plant and environmental monitoring solutions. "Growers observe their crops, but real-time plant measurements provide direct insights. Actions like adjusting irrigation timing or ventilation can take days or weeks to show results visibly, whereas plant-based measurements give immediate feedback."
Dynamax distinguishes itself through its focus on non-invasive plant measurements. "We also measure VPD and soil moisture, but sap flow and fruit and stem growth Dendrometers are key, particularly for crops like bell peppers, cucumbers, and cannabis. The company has historically focused on outdoor crops like grapes and avocados, but the shift towards greenhouse applications requires non-invasive approaches."
Overall, the company aims to provide the total package for growers. "Therefore, we've recently introduced a new dashboard for easier data interpretation," Wouter adds. To introduce these solutions to growers, European trade shows are on the agenda for Dynamax. The company was present at HortiContact in the Netherlands and will also be at GreenTech Amsterdam in June.
