Philippines: Benguet residents assured there will be a strong strawberry supply

Just after the flower festival of its neighboring Baguio City, La Trinidad, the capital town of the Province of Benguet assures residents and visitors enough supply of strawberries on its nearing Strawberry Festival.

According to the Municipal Agriculturist Office, there are supplies of the sweet fruit from the famous Strawberry Farm at Betag, La Trinidad. The office also stated that more supplies are coming from the different elevated strawberry farms in the municipality.

On 3 March this year, La Trinidad will be celebrating its 2025 Strawberry Festival. The celebration this year is themed "Semek La Trinidad" or Love La Trinidad where strawberry and its by-products will be its main features. The rich cultural heritage of the different ethnolinguistic groups like the Kankanaeys, Ibaloys, Kalanguyas among others will be showcased at the festival's drum and Lyre street dancing performance and street parade on 22 March.

La Trinidad Municipal Vice Mayor Roderick Awingan said the festival entices at the same time encourages cooperation, partnership, and collaboration with the community.
