Sweden: Sustainable technical project at Frövi Greenery

Royal Brinkman has successfully implemented the technical installations for Frövi Greenery's high-tech greenhouse. Covering 10 hectares and producing 8,000 tons of tomatoes annually, this project contributes to sustainable and efficient tomato cultivation in Sweden.

Sustainable technology for a future-proof greenhouse
At Frövi Greenery, Royal Brinkman played a key role along with its partners in developing a future-proof greenhouse. Roy Wubben, Technical Project Manager at Royal Brinkman, explains: "Together, we have delivered a fantastic project. We designed and installed the technical systems with a strong focus on energy efficiency and water conservation. The greenhouse utilizes residual heat from a nearby paper factory. In addition, the reverse osmosis system filters water from a lake several kilometers away. This results in a reduced CO2 footprint and sustainable water use."

Technical expertise and smart solutions
Royal Brinkman designed and implemented various installations to maximize the greenhouse's efficiency and sustainability. The two 10-meter-long water units are equipped with an automatic filtration and flushing system. Additionally, an advanced electrical system with eighteen control panels manages the heating, ventilation, and lighting systems. The Hoogendoorn IIVO control system precisely regulates temperature and humidity. This system can be operated remotely, ensuring maximum control over growing conditions.

Successful collaboration and impact
This project was completed in close collaboration with partners such as KUBO, Hoogendoorn, Verkade, PDI, and Anima. "Thanks to a proactive approach and technical expertise, we have delivered a modern greenhouse that meets Frövi Greenery's high standards. We are proud to have contributed to this innovative and future-proof project," concludes Roy Wubben. By growing tomatoes locally, Frövi Greenery reduces its reliance on imports while providing Swedish consumers with fresh, sustainable tomatoes.
