Two companies have joined forces in recent months to create a promising collaboration: we are talking about the Spanish multinational Agrobío, one of the world's leading biofactories specializing in the breeding of beneficial insects and mites, and the Italian company Geofin, specializing in the distribution of innovative solutions for agriculture.
Founded in 1997, Geofin S.p.A. is a trading company conceived and created for the application and promotion of agricultural crop protection products. Over the years, the company has widened its offer by including own-brand products. In 2009, Geofin created the Bio division, a unit dedicated to the supply of means and systems for organic and integrated agriculture which has grown considerably and established itself in the national agricultural scene. Geofin's philosophy, 'Agriculture is our passion', reflects the commitment and dedication of the company, which has been able to expand its presence in various agricultural sectors.
Agrobío S.L., a biofactory founded in 1995 in Almería, is one of the largest companies in the bio-control sector and in the breeding of bumblebees for natural pollination. Through the application of biological control methods, its aim is to restore natural balance, guaranteeing greater agri-food security. As proof of the company's commitment, the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (CEPYME) selected Agrobío S.L. as one of the 500 most important companies of the year in 2020.
"The objective of the two companies is to integrate their competencies to better face the many challenges ahead while maintaining the principles of integrated organic pest management. The collaboration agreement between Agrobío and Geofin will bring development to both companies: it will allow Agrobío to establish its brand in Northern Italy and give Geofin the opportunity to improve its offer of products and services for integrated and organic pest management."
