In East China's Shandong province, farm grower Wu Zhengqian is jubilant with the vibrant growth of his strawberries in greenhouses at grain-producing Juancheng county.
Shuttling through his strawberry bushes in Wuxingyanzhuang village in Jishan town on Feb 24, he used scissors to trim off excess branches and leaves one by one, to help with strawberry growth, increase ventilation and light transmission.
Inside his greenhouse, fresh red and plump strawberries hang on vines, exuding a fruity aroma that makes Wu smile happily.
"It is a bumper harvest season for me," he said, noting that as the town's industry prospers, farmers can become rich steadily.
