US: Using horticultural greenhouses for flowers this spring

The Challenge Center is growing their Bay Produce program with more than fresh vegetables. New this year, the non-profit will be adding spring flowers to their greenhouse and they'll be ready for Mother's Day.

Mark Kroll, the Director of the Challenge Center, says their Bay Produce program helps individuals learn pre-vocational skills.

"It's a way for us to kind of change up our business model a little bit. We've been doing vegetables, great tomatoes, basil, cucumbers, and different things throughout the years. It's an opportunity for us to just diversify a little bit," Kroll said. "Have something that we don't, and connect with the public."

Kroll also said with Challenge Center growing flowers it would provide new learning opportunities for some of their growers with learning disabilities.
