From -20 degrees Celcius to a 73-acre greenhouse

At the time the photo was taken, it was -20 degrees, with a wind chill of -25 degrees. But next year around this time, the weather at this location will be much more pleasant. The photo was taken at the site where Universal Fabricating is set to build one of the largest projects of the year: a massive 29.5-hectare (73-acre) greenhouse where Double Diamond Farms will grow vegetables.

And it's not just the greenhouse that will keep the temperature warm. The greenhouse will be equipped with a horizontal insertion screen system with light abatement curtains (Svensson Obscura 9950 FR W) and vertical roll-ups (Svensson Obscura 10070 R FR W). Installing them is quite a task for SCRE3NS, as Pascal den Heijer acknowledges. "These screens will ensure Double Diamond Farms complies with local light pollution by-laws, reduces energy costs, and allows for precise control of light, temperature, and humidity," he explains.

Thanks to their collaboration with Horizon Screening Installations, which began last year, the company can rely on local installation teams in Canada. "Whether it's a new build, a retrofit, or a replacement, we have the expertise and the team to make it happen," he confirms, also promising to keep us updated with photos and videos showing the transformation of this vast piece of land into a thriving vegetable greenhouse.
