Tomato exports from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan increased by 23% in the first ten months of 2024, according to the National Statistics Committee.
From January to October, Kyrgyzstan imported 19,629.2 tons of tomatoes, worth $12.81 million. Of this, 15,204.8 tons were sourced from Turkmenistan, valued at $8.9 million. In the same period of 2023, Kyrgyzstan had imported 12,355.4 tons from Turkmenistan, worth $7.6 million.
Other suppliers also contributed to Kyrgyzstan's tomato imports in 2024:
- Uzbekistan reduced its exports from 6,102.1 tons worth $2.85 million in 2023 to 3,594.8 tons, though the value increased slightly to $2.86 million.
- China significantly increased its exports, delivering 722 tons valued at $947,900 in 2024, up from 170.9 tons in 2023.
- Iran tripled its export volume, supplying 73.5 tons in 2024 compared to 24.2 tons the previous year.
- Kazakhstan saw a sharp decrease, exporting 34.1 tons in 2024, down from 197.8 tons in 2023.
- Turkey reported no tomato exports to Kyrgyzstan in 2024.
