Hoogweg Pepper Nurseries; From 2.2 to 191.4 hectares, and growth continues

From a small garden of 2.2 hectares in 1986, Hoogweg Paprika Nurseries has grown to 191.4 hectares. On social media at the end of 2024, the company is reflecting on its impressive growth, which at the time started in tomatoes in 1986. In 2022, it made the switch to peppers.

In 2024, Hoogweg Paprika Nurseries added 31.5 hectares of greenhouse. Two more new greenhouses will follow in 2025.

"In 1986, we started with a small 2.2-hectare garden growing tomatoes. By 2000, we transitioned to bell peppers with a new 6.8-hectare garden. In 2008, we expanded to the Noordoostpolder, establishing the first 11-hectare greenhouses. By 2009, the first site was completed, featuring four greenhouses and a processing hall. Between 2016 and 2017, we developed a second location in the Noordoostpolder, adding four more greenhouses, built in phases of two per year. From 2020 to 2021, we launched and completed our third location. In 2024, construction began on our newest site, featuring three greenhouses. Looking ahead, in 2025, we will continue expanding this site with two additional greenhouses."

"What began as a modest garden has grown over the years into a remarkable enterprise. We are proud of what we've accomplished and excited about the future!"
