The Department of Agricultural and Fisheries Information of the Junta de AndalucĂa has published a report on the phenological status of greenhouse crops in the week of December 9 to 15. In Almeria, the tomato harvest continues, the tomato plants are in the vegetative development phase, and producers are carrying out thinning and staking work. Pepper crops have adequate vegetative development and fruit set, with no significant incidents, and producers continue harvesting all types of peppers. Moreover, producers are installing double roofs in the greenhouses to protect the crops from the cold and speed up their development. Aubergine plantations show good vegetative development and fruit set, with some at the beginning of harvesting and others in full harvesting.
In Granada, specifically in the region of Alhama, the greenhouses have the plastic sheeting up and the drippers have been removed. In the region of La Costa, greenhouse producers are harvesting cherry tomatoes, Spanish and Dutch cucumbers with average yields, as well as Lamuyo, Italian, and Palermo peppers.
In Huelva, the raspberry crop, which began in October, has recorded a harvest of 9,000-10,000 kg/ha, with a 20-minute-a-day irrigation and fertilizer application. Production has increased and prices have fallen. The later blueberry plantations are close to resting, and the early ones are in the setting phase, with varieties such as Olimpus and Cupla standing out. The plants are irrigated for 30 minutes a day.
