Vietnamese growers embracing technology in pursuit of perfect crops

Organizations across Da Nang are actively applying scientific and technological advancements to produce high-quality breeds for agricultural activities. As a result, numerous varieties of rice, livestock, and crops with high productivity and quality have been introduced into production, yielding significant economic benefits for farmers.

Over recent years, the Hoa Khuong Agricultural Experiment Station, Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang District, has conducted various research projects on freshwater aquaculture and breed production. The station also raises fish such as featherback, and common carp to ensure high-quality breeds that meet farmers' needs. Since the beginning of the year, the station has supplied over 700,000 breeds of various types.

It is projected that during the main farming season, the station will supply 300,000–400,000 additional breeds. According to Mr Huynh Duc Trung, Head of the Hoa Khuong Agricultural Experiment Station, the breeds produced and raised at the station are of high quality, disease-resistant, and adaptable, reducing losses and meeting 80–90% of farmers' demands. This contributes to the local supply of high-quality breeds, enhances farmers' economic efficiency, and promotes sustainable freshwater aquaculture in the city.

At the Tuy Loan Safe Vegetable Production and Consumption Cooperative, Hoa Phong Commune, Hoa Vang District, the Cooperative's high-tech net-house model was established in mid-2019 and expanded in 2023. Covering over 500 square meters, the model includes a net-house system, hydroponic vegetable systems, seedling racks, trays, and materials. This initiative has improved the efficiency of safe vegetable production.
