Edwin van der Knaap brings many years of international experience in designing and optimizing the production of a wide range of crops. He is widely regarded as a leading expert in this field and has been appointed as the new Chief Product Officer. Anton Klunder joins as an investor and will serve as Managing Director. Together with the founders of Gentle Green, they complete the leadership team.
"Convinced that the Gentle Green climate system will contribute to improved and future-proof production of any crop, I decided to join and invest," commented Anton Klunder, the new managing director of Gentle Green.
"My mission at Gentle Green is serving growers by assembling a completely controlled growing system for them, that enables a climate with which the grower and his stakeholders can profit sustainably," said Edwin van der Knaap, the new Chief Product Offier of Gentle Green.
Gentle Green has developed an integrated climate system for producing vegetables, flowers, and plants in closed greenhouses. The system gives growers full control over temperature, humidity, CO₂ levels, and air circulation, creating optimal conditions for crop production. "Because the greenhouse remains closed, there is no loss of thermal energy, water, or CO₂, and no viruses, bacteria, or fungi can enter. According to the company, this system offers growers substantially higher yields, reduced resource consumption, and a fully sustainable, future-proof solution. The system enables growers to produce any crop year-round, anywhere in the world," Edwin explained.
