Last week, the prices of greenhouse tomatoes increased in Ukraine, due to the increase in the prices of products of domestic greenhouse plants at the end of the season.
Analysts of the project note that tomatoes are currently on sale at UAH 80-90/kg ($1,92-2,16/kg), which is on average 13% more expensive than the week before. This is the highest level of prices in at least the last 7 years.
"According to the producers, the selection of vegetables in local stationary plants today is small in volume, which in turn allows the sellers to increase the prices for the available volumes of products. At the same time, traders have not yet succeeded in compensating for the insufficient supply of local tomatoes at the expense of imported products," project analysts note.
