AI plant protection solution unveiled for hydroponics

After two years of development, TapKit, in collaboration with Fermata has launched an online solution designed to detect leaf issues in hydroponic systems.

TapKit's compact 510m² hydroponic system is tailored to make hydroponics accessible to small-scale operations such as family farms, resorts, schools, and community farming initiatives. The Croptimus i-Droponics leverages three strategically placed cameras within the greenhouse to monitor and detect diseases, insect infestations, and nutrient deficiencies in real-time.

Avner Shohet, TAPKIT's founder explained that: "The goal of TAPKIT has always been to create a system that is simple to learn and operate, allowing individuals without prior experience to become proficient in just a few months.

Accessible via both desktop and mobile devices, the app allows growers to remotely monitor their greenhouses and receive instant alerts when issues are detected. High-resolution images of the affected areas help growers quickly identify and address problems, enabling faster intervention.

Designed for scalability, the app can be integrated into larger hydroponic systems and adapted for various crops. The service operates on a subscription-based model (SaaS), ensuring continuous support and updates for users.
