NL: Grower tracks plant growth curve in new data portal Sendot

Sendot recently launched a new data portal that hopes to take the way growers manage and analyze their data to the next level. Sendot's Erwin Grafe and Arie Draaijer talk about the platform's new capabilities and what this means for the agricultural sector.

Portal as an optimization tool
"Our new data portal is the result of months of hard work and intensive development. We wanted to create a platform that really responds to the needs of our users. The new portal therefore offers not only an improved user experience but also a range of new powerful functionalities.

"We find that our customers increasingly value user-friendly data analysis tools, which is exactly what we set out to achieve with this update. To carry out the work, we have recently opened an office in France where two employees are currently working."

The new portal integrates a photosynthesis model to properly assess plant performance. Click here to enlarge a growth curve.

The most important addition is undoubtedly the new growth curve functionality, the men stress. "The growth curve presented allows users to generate detailed graphs showing the growth of their crops over a given period. For growers, this is essential information. They can now easily track and analyze the development of their crops, and this helps them draw better conclusions about the current cropping strategy and evaluate it towards optimizations. These insights allow our customers to fine-tune conditions even more precisely to the needs of their crops. Growers often depend on a variety of external factors, such as irradiance, temperature, and humidity. With the growth curves, they can see exactly how these conditions affect the growth of their crops."

Besides photosynthesis efficiency and PAR at the leaf level, oxygen and temperature in the root environment are also visible in the portal. Upon customer request, other sensor data such as room temperature, RH, and CO2 are also visible. Click here to enlarge an oxygen profile.

Alerts and steering on plant status
API links can be made from the database to customer databases and climate computers. Thanks to the new software, customers can also receive alerts on the status of plants and sensors. Moreover, control signals to climate controllers can be sent from the new software, allowing plant status to be controlled.

If required, Sendot provides appropriate advice to make optimal use of the data. This involves setting concrete goals to be achieved with the sensors. This can be done via Teams or on-site.

Transition to the new portal
Recently, all existing users were transferred to the new portal. "They can now start working directly in the new environment. For other interested parties, we offer an online demo to see the new features in action first. We would especially like to invite them to contact us. This will give them a chance to experience for themselves all that the new portal has to offer and how it can facilitate their daily work. We really think this data portal is a valuable tool for any grower who wants more control over their growing process and the health of their crops."

With this launch of the new data portal, Sendot shows that they continue to invest in innovative solutions for the agricultural sector. Interested parties can contact the Houten-based company directly to learn more about the possibilities of this revamped platform.
