The THRIVE Academy V Cohort recently concluded a week in Alberta, where they had the opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders, present their solutions, and learn about the province's agriculture and technology sectors.
The week began with presentations from TELUS Global Ventures and FCC Capital providing insights into venture investment and ecosystem partnerships. The cohort then joined Innovation Week YYC's Agtech and Cleantech Programming at Platform Calgary, engaging with Alberta's dynamic innovation community.
Highlights of the week included a tour of Sunterra Greenhouse, showcasing advanced greenhouse operations, followed by a visit to Olds College Smart Farm, where the startups saw innovative agriculture technologies in action. Afterward, the cohort participated in a pitch session in front of an audience of Olds College students, faculty members, and OCCI staff.
The week continued with Founders Cafe Meetings, connecting the startups with investors, corporates, and ecosystem leaders. The week culminated in Demo Day, an exclusive event where the cohort delivered outstanding pitches.
Munitora was voted the People's Choice Award winner.
