Pepper grower using USAF cavitating ultrasonic transmitters

"Everything is cleaner and cleaning requires less effort than before"

"Another round of time wasted on cleaning during crop rotation. Can't this be faster and better?" This is a common sentiment among growers during crop changes… and yes, it can! By using the USAF™ cavitating ultrasonic transmitters to keep irrigation water clean, the process becomes much more efficient. For over four years, Ultramins has been providing these unique transmitters to eliminate algae, pathogens, and biofilm at any point in the water chain.

Growers in over 50 countries worldwide place USAF transmitters in their basins, silos, and drains. The result? Pathogen-free irrigation water that contributes to better yields without any effort from the growers.

An added benefit is the breakdown of biofilm, which makes cleaning, especially in silos and drains, much quicker and easier. Filters in basins also stay much cleaner. Faster cleaning means fewer labor hours, translating into significant cost savings.

It's no surprise that growers often turn to Ultramins in Zwaag for customized solutions. One such grower is Florian Locher of Fresh Venture Farms (pepper cultivation) in Canada.

"Even at the end of the growing season, we still have bell peppers of this quality – that's what truly makes a grower happy!"

Florian shares his experience with the transmitters: "In our pond, we haven't had any issues with algae since installing the transmitters about three years ago. Naturally, this results in much cleaner water in our silos. We've noticed this during our annual cleaning: everything is cleaner and requires less effort than before. This saves us a lot of time."

The power of cavitation kills all single-celled microorganisms and eliminates viruses, explains Eric van Velzen with Ultramins. 'Whether it's algae, bacteria, fungi, or viruses, these pathogens simply cannot withstand the powerful cavitation pressure waves. Moreover, the cavitation technology is environmentally friendly. This is recognized by many governments all over the world, which offers often subsidies and tax benefits for its use."

The transmitters are also used in day reservoirs or "clean" drain silos. Florian Locher further shares his experience with the silos: "Since installing the transmitters in our silos to disinfect the water, we've had no issues with waterborne diseases. We also use far fewer chemicals than before. Our production this year has been better than in many previous years."

Existing equipment, such as UV filters and ultrafiltration systems, can even perform better when cleaner water flows through them. This synergy effect results in a more efficiently functioning water chain. Additionally, the use of hydrogen peroxide can be significantly reduced—a 25-30% saving is achievable.

In short, Eric concludes, the USAF cavitating ultrasonic transmitters make growers' lives much easier and deliver better results.
