Crop rotation is a hectic, busy time. The greenhouse goes empty and full again in a short period of time. At Agro Care in Rilland, they do everything possible to start the new crop clean again. The hygiene protocol helps them do just that.
Nick van Belle, cultivation manager at Agro Care: "We are now using foam for cleaning and disinfection for the second year. Before, we mainly used chlorine. The greenhouse materials suffered considerably from that. Hygiene is very important to us. We use Menno Florades because it is very effective on bacteria, fungi, and viruses. We chose a foam application because it allows you to cover all surfaces better and keep them wet longer. Moreover, unlike chlorine, we can apply Menno Florades with our own equipment."

Clean first, then disinfect
Dirk Timmers, hygiene specialist at Royal Brinkman: "At Agro Care, they use Menno Hortisept Clean Plus to clean the gutters. They apply this foamingly. The product has to soak in for a while, before being sprayed off with high pressure. By applying this way of cleaning, Agro Care sees a saving in labour. Moreover, the cultivation gutters become cleaner than with the method used previously. Once everything has dried after cleaning, they disinfect with Menno Florades. Again, they choose to apply it foaming. Then they install all growing materials in the greenhouse, such as the substrate mats. Then they do a final spray treatment with Menno Florades. So that everything is properly disinfected and the new crop can start clean."
