The Agricultural and Fisheries Information Service of the Junta de Andalucía issued a report on the phenological status of greenhouse crops in the region in the first week of November.
In Almería, producers continue harvesting greenhouse peppers. In the later plantations, the fruit is still setting and fattening. Their vegetative development is good and there is a low incidence of pests and diseases.
The tomato plantations planted in July are in full production, with favorable weather for fruit development and fruit set. There's a slight increase in the incidence of whiteflies, tuta, and vasates.
Many zucchini greenhouses are in full harvest, although there are plantations in all stages. Some plots have been affected by virosis.
Cucumber plantations are in full production. However, there are also some greenhouses where cucumbers were recently planted and others in the flowering and fruit-fattening stages.
The earliest eggplants are in full harvest.
In the La Costa area of Granada, Dutch cucumber production is starting in some areas.
There are aphid and whitefly problems both in this crop and zucchini.
The cherry tomato season is starting with an average production of 10 kg/m².
Regarding Huelva's berry production, this year there has been a shortage of strawberry plants due to the weather in the production areas of Castile and Leon. Last week, the planting that started at the end of September came to an end.
The earliest raspberry varieties are being harvested in the Condado Campiña and Condado Litoral regions. There are greenhouses with Adelita and Noelia plants. There's some waterlogging due to heavy rains, and there are also red spider mite attacks.
Extra-early blueberry varieties are being harvested in Lepe.
