Turkey: Double crop during winter cultivation aids growers

Erzincan has made a significant breakthrough in winter vegetable cultivation. After the tomato and cucumber season ended in the greenhouses in the city during the summer months, various products such as lettuce, parsley, and arugula began to fill the greenhouses in the autumn.

An indispensable green for winter salads apple, also accompanies many flavors prepared in restaurants and kitchens, especially Erzincan's famous döner. In this context, the agricultural engineer who grows lettuce in his 30-acre greenhouse in Yeniköy, Erzincan Center Fatih Tahtalistated that the lettuce they produce is highly appreciated by consumers in terms of both quality and taste.

Fatih Tahtalı stated that they ship the lettuce they produce to the vegetable markets of Erzincan and surrounding provinces, emphasizing that this process contributes to the local economy. Tahtalı also drew attention to the fact that greenhouse farming in Erzincan is gradually developing and said that they harvest double products from the greenhouses during the year, which provides great advantages in terms of efficiency and profitability.
