Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture calls Rosselkhoznadzor's accusations unfounded

The State Inspection Committee in the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan considers the accusations of Rosselkhoznadzor to be unfounded. Such a statement was made by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the APK Novost and APK News agency reports.

"The State Inspection Committee in the Agro-Industrial Complex did not take any actions to organize a "shadow order" for the uncontrolled movement of plant products across the territory of the EAEU, as stated in the statement of Rosselkhoznadzor. The issuance of phytosanitary certificates is a public service, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

At the same time, the agency acknowledged that there is a problem with unscrupulous Kazakhstani companies that register quarantine products for "front" companies when receiving phytosanitary certificates.

"The issue of the existence of "front" companies is relevant not only for Russia but also for Kazakhstan since products are also imported into our country from the EAEU member states to recipients who are not aware that they are being imported," the Kazakh department said.

"It is not possible to find a solution at the level of Kazakhstan's legislation: this issue must be resolved at the level of the EEC," the ministry also noted.
