Grower Victoria suffers losses in battle with Vitmark Ukraine

Nearly million-dollar tomatoes perished in Ukraine

The farming enterprise "Victoria" has encountered a serious problem due to the breach of contract by "Vitmark Ukraine," a well-known producer of popular juices under the TM Jaffa brand, among others. As a result, tomatoes worth nearly $1 million died in the fields of the farmer, threatening the existence of the farm.

SFG "Victoria," which has been engaged in vegetable growing and horticulture since 1992, signed a contract with "Vitmark" for the supply of 8,000 tons of tomatoes. To fulfill the terms of the contract, farmer Viktor Kozhukharenko invested significant funds in expanding planting areas and purchasing equipment. However, when the time came to deliver the crop, "Vitmark" refused to accept it, taking only the amount of tomatoes that was covered by the advance payment.

This situation led to thousands of tons of tomatoes simply rotting in the field, causing colossal losses to the "Victoria" farm. Viktor Kozhukharenko is appealing to the court but is concerned that the process may be prolonged.

For its part, "Vitmark Ukraine" refuses to comment on the situation, referring to the fact that the disputed issues will be resolved in court. Meanwhile, the "Victoria" farming enterprise is facing a real threat of reduced production volumes and the loss of a significant portion of working capital, which could have negative consequences for the future of the business.
